A Personal Newsletter Born From Too Much Noise

A Personal Newsletter Born From Too Much Noise

Not too long ago, I launched my Tiny Bits newsletter. I wanted to give people a glimpse inside of my mind beyond the books I usually share.

While I’ve been sharing book recommendations for a while now, I feel my interests travel far beyond books alone. That’s why I have been looking for new ways to interact with you.

Another reason is something I kept noticing: there’s so much meaningful content out there—books, longform articles, a forgotten 1970s film, ideas—but it often gets lost in the endless noise of feeds and search engines.

As an avid reader for many years, I can assure you that some of the best stories, insights, and discoveries that are timeless and timely never make it to the top of the search engines. So over the years, I kept looking for people to point me to the ones that really matter.

On top of that, studies point out that most of the news stories we consume have a negative sentiment, leaving particularly younger generations feeling overwhelmed by it and tuning out by it altogether. Meanwhile, vital but less “clickable” stories, like the ongoing challenges faced by children due to preventable diseases such as malaria or diarrhea, are often overlooked.

So I decided to take on the challenge of favoring pieces that feel enduring or have depth. Every month, I take a little time to collect ten things that stood out to me–books, articles, films, tools, or just weird little discoveries that made me stop, smile, or think differently.

Things I wish someone had sent me. And I send them straight to my subscribers, in a clean, digestible format that’s designed to be opened, read, and enjoyed in just a few minutes.

Tiny Bits, however, isn’t just about recommendations. I love to give you a curated experience in a world full of noise. It’s about highlighting the discoveries that can surprise you, spark new ideas, and make life a little richer. I write every edition with care, like a note from a friend, because that’s how I want it to feel.

It’s just me doing this, no assistant, no algorithm deciding what you see. I love discovering these tiny gems and sending them out to people who care about ideas. I hope you are in for the journey.

Love,
Lisanne
