As a kid, I was very curious and loved to figure things out for myself. However, I’m still pretty much that way. If I don’t know much about something and it doesn’t let go of me, I look for the answers until I have it.
During my school years, I didn’t really like school because I wasn’t interested in most of the things my teachers thought were important. Although I loved reading and learning, I never understood what doing well in school would get me other than my parents’ or teachers’ approval.
It wasn’t until I went to university that I started to enjoy education. I enjoyed the discussions in class, I loved the readings, and writing the essays gave me the permit to chill in the library a little bit longer. It made me realize that for the first time, I had to learn stuff that I truly cared about. And not only that, I also realized that I was getting more and more answers to actual questions I had.
Curiosity is the strong desire to learn without constraint, and I guess it’s a critical factor for how well you proceed. It’s the driving force behind new discoveries in technology and science, but all fields. The following quotes are an ode to my love of learning and exploring. Every quote represents an aspect of learning that I feel is necessary. Besides that, it’s to encourage you to embrace your curiosity when it hits.

Last note
These were the quotes on learning that I liked the most. Curiosity, to me, is a form of courage — a way of staying awake to life. It’s noticing what pulls at your attention and letting it lead you somewhere new, even when you don’t know where that is yet.
Learning to me isn’t also about collecting facts or mastering things; it’s about being open, again and again, to what the world has to teach. It’s the gentle nudge that says look closer, the willingness to be surprised. Every time you follow that pull of curiosity, you grow a little more into who you’re meant to be — and the world opens up just a bit wider in return.
In my Tiny Bits newsletter, I share a thoughtful and inspirational quote every two weeks. I’ve collected many of them along the way, so sign up for this newsletter if you’d like to receive more inspirational quotes.
I’d really love to hear how you feed your curiosity—what sparks your interest, and how you go about exploring the things you love. Feel free to share in the comments below!
