The very first reader question I answered when I started my monthly Q&A in 2021 was about the three pieces of advice I would give to my younger self. I thought it was kind of sweet how genuinely excited I was to receive a question and put real care into answering it as thoughtfully and helpfully as I could.
In the meantime, there’s a lot I’ve answered. From weird personal habits, to role models, and beyond. More than once, I’ve been surprised by how thoughtful most of these questions were.
Although I didn’t realize it at the time, the Q&As have helped me grow as a writer and think more about how to tell a story, and how to make sure readers care about the story.
I have also gotten better at writing in a language that is not my native tongue. When I read back pieces from 2021 and compare them to what I have written more recently, the difference is striking—it is almost unrecognizable.
Now, four years later, I feel like the world has changed a little bit, and so have I. I’ve loved answering these questions for this long and I still do, but I’ve come to realize that I like to take on a new challenge.
As this platform grows every day, I feel more and more responsible to continue to grow as a writer and storyteller, to evolve, and to make certain projects happen. From now on, I’m taking on the challenge of publishing a personal letter every week.
For now, I’d like to say goodbye to the Q&A sessions and continue writing a personal letter every week. The personal letters will be available on this platform.
Here is a list of the last 3 personal letters I’ve sent:
- What I’ve Learned From David Bowie
- Sleeping Under the Sahara Sky
- This once obscure little blog few people read
