My top 10 quotes on the power of storytelling

I have always loved stories, whether reading books, hearing tall tales from friends or listening to words of wisdom from my parents. And ever since I started in business with blogging, I have been fascinated by the intersection between storytelling and entrepreneurship. This article is to inspire you with some quotes on storytelling.

The power of stories

Entrepreneurs who make a difference connect telling stories with doing business perfectly. They relate to and interact with other people – they are, in effect, professional storytellers. The story of my personal blog – its ups and down, opportunity and challenges – is what attracts people to our products and services, and also to work with us. We would be nothing without our story.

To encourage you to tell yours, here’s my top 10 quotes on the power of stories.

My top 10 quotes that challenge the way you think

Every now and then we need to challenge ourselves a bit to become aware of the way we think. We all have our own perceptions and opinions and – often subconscious – biases about things. It’s important to keep an open mind if we want to keep improving ourselves and engage in conversations that can change the world for the better too. In this blog I’ve collected 10 quotes on being open minded.

My top 10 quotes to embrace your intuition

We learn a lot in school. From how to count, spell, read and write, to remember important events in history or to calculate probability-rates. But what we don’t learn in school, is to acknowledge the importance of your instincts – and how to listen to that gut feeling. I don’t think embracing your intuition is promoted enough, so here are my intuition quotes to prove the opposite!

But first…

Your intuition is that part of your brain that sees, feels and experience other things than your logic mind. I consider it as that little invisible man, sitting on your shoulder that guides you in times that there’s no reasoning but only a felt knowing for the situation.

It really is more than just a voice – it’s whispering to you all the time. All animals have it. But despite all our potential as human beings – we’re the only creatures that try to deny and ignore it.

Through history many big entrepreneurs have embraced the importance of learning to trust your instincts. But despite of those people like Steve Jobs, I don’t think this is emphasized often enough. Wait for it, because here is my top 10 on how to embrace your intuition.

My top 10

“Intuition is seeing with the soul.” – Dean Koontz

“I believe in intuitions and inspirations…I sometimes FEEL that I am right. I do not KNOW that I am.”
Albert Einstein

“Our intuition is like a muscle, we must practice listening to it and trusting its wisdom. When you take the time to ask and keep listening for the answer, being at peace becomes easy.”
Lisa Prosen

“Intuition is a very powerful thing, more powerful than intellect, in my opinion.” – Steve Jobs in the New York Times.

“Intuition is a powerful business tool. Use it.”
Maggie Wilderotter

This feeling, this little whisper from deep inside your brain, may contain far more information — both facts and impressions — than you’re likely to obtain from hours of analysis.” – Roy Rowan

“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.” – Albert Einstein

“Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.” – Florence Scovel Shinn

“Intuition means exactly what it sounds like, in-tuition! An inner tutor or teaching and learning mechanism that takes us forward daily. It is a resource that, where recognized, has infinite potential.” – Seth Godin
